Father Sam Korn describes the School’s Harvest Collection:
“As a church school, our Harvest Festival is a really important occasion, when we ask everyone to remember how we depend on the work of others for our daily needs. We say “thank you” for these things that don’t come from us – that come from other people and from God. As part of our thanksgiving we share what we have with those who need it, so we are really glad to support the Foodbank.

“Our academy consists of both a primary and secondary school, and our students are split into houses, so we held a sort of competition to see which house could make the biggest contribution. The Americas House won, but the most important thing was that we had a huge collection.

“We collected so much food – well over 500kg – that of the new bags bought for the Harvest collection, two broke as they were so full.”

A huge thank you to St Mary Magdalene and Father Sam Korn for this amazing contribution. And thanks as well to Duncombe Primary School, St Mary’s Primary School and St George’s Church who also collected food for the Foodbank as part of their Harvest Festival celebrations.
